PIPA

BEACHES
Pipa's beaches are extraordinarily beautiful. As Brazilian typically northeastern beaches, Pipa's green sea touches its cliffs in varied shades of yellow, ocher, orange and red, shrouded by the lush Atlantic forest. This paradisiacal scenario is home to animals such as dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, and others.
The tide pendulum movement creates natural hot water pools, ideal for diving and for snorkeling. More agitated sea spots are disputed by surfers, while Praia do Amor and Praia das Cacimbinhas skies are strived by paraglide fans.

PIPA VILLAGE
Until a few decades ago, Pipa was just a rudimentary fishing village. Rediscovered then by surfers who sought good waves, the village began to take fame and little by little some inns, campsites and restaurants started to emerge. Since then Pipa has not stopped growing and today it receives tourists from all around the globe. It has become a permanent highlight in the main tourism guides and it is always chosen as one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil and in the world.
During the colonization of Brazil, the region was very disputed by European nations, especially by the French, Dutch and Portuguese. Originally inhabited by the Potiguaras Indians, the region was explored for its natural resources, mainly for Pau Brasil - a native tree used for fabric dyeing.
Praia da Pipa officially belongs to Tibau do Sul county. The discussion about the origins of its name is old, yet the predominant idea is that Pipa is a reference to "Pedra do Moleque" (a huge rock that lies on Praia do Amor) which contours look like a big wine barrel, might used for navigation reference.

GASTRONOMY
Gastronomia Pipa
Pipa is famous for its varied gastronomy that mixes typical regional dishes to contemporary French cuisine. This variety is the result of a large number of foreign and Brazilian immigrants from other regions who decided to settle here, bringing with them some of the flavors of their native land.

Despite being a small village, Pipa has a rather hectic nightlife. All cultures and origins find place in an atmosphere of relaxation and joy to listen to good music, from the traditional to the most innovative sound.
